Lights By The Lake At Harrison Hot Springs

Nothing bolsters the Christmas spirit like beautiful light displays

By Michaela Ludwig

If you need some help finding your Christmas spirit this year or if you’re looking for a place to wander, sip a hot drink and see some beautiful lights, head down to Harrison Hot Springs for the village’s Lights By The Lake display.

The village was transformed into a Christmas wonderland on Nov. 18 and the displays will be up until Jan. 8. Wander down the paved promenade along Harrison’s lakeshore and you’ll find light displays featuring local wildlife and the ever-popular Sasquatch, as well as fun painted selfie stands. All of the displays are custom built, and you can walk for about two kilometres down the pathway to take it all in.

Throughout village, local businesses are also decked out in Christmas cheer and 10 Sasquatch characters have been hidden in the window displays for people to find.

Although this winter has been unseasonably warm across Canada so far, be sure to stop into Muddy Waters Café for a hot drink – try the gingerbread latte, if you’re feeling adventurous! It’s like being hugged by the Gingerbread Man.

As if that’s not enough Christmas cheer, you can also take a drive into nearby Agassiz and see the Winter Night Lights that are lighting up Pioneer Park throughout December.
