Get Lost – 8 Metro Vancouver Corn Mazes

What comes to mind when you think of corn fields? Harvest? Autumn? Quaint roadside produce stands? How about corn mazes? In the crisp air under a tepid sun we think fun. But have you ever ran deep into a corn maze after dark? We triple-dog-dare you to test your bravery while fighting off thoughts of Stephen King’s Children of the Corn. (Go under the full moon – October 27th.) Whether you’re up for an after-dark game of tag with your friends, or a family-friendly stroll through the stalks, here are five corn mazes in Metro Vancouver.

Flash Light Corn Maze: October 8–31, nightfall – 10 p.m.

Chainsaw Massacre Corn Maze: October 8–31, 8 p.m.-10 p.m. Oct 29-31: 8 p.m. – Midnight. Last call 9:30 p.m./11:30pm.

Description: There’s something for the whole family at Maan Farms. In addition to getting lost in the corn maze, there’s a play area, a petting zoo, food and drinks and, of course, strawberries.

Chilliwack Corn Maze

Description: Each year, the crew gives a new design to the 12-acre corn maze, and travelling through the maze is an interactive experience with passports and challenges to overcome as you go.

Other information and amenities: The farm also offers a pumpkin patch, a giant jumping pillow, pedal carts, duck races, an indoor hay bale maze, corn train, farm animals and a climbing spider web, just to name a few! Wear footwear with a sturdy sole in the maze.

Taves Family Farms – Applebarn Pumpkin Farm

Description: Farming has been a family operation here since the 1930s. One farm grew into a few and now the Taves family grows apples, tomatoes, pumpkins and everything in between. In an effort to get more people out to the farm, the Taves created the Applebarn – you can go for a hay ride, ride a pony, pick apples and pumpkins, ride the tire swing, bounce on jumping pillows, visit the petting zoo and make your way through the corn maze!

Other information and amenities: The Applebarn is also home to a country store, with freshly made pies, pickles and preserves, treats for your sweet tooth, an observation beehive and honey, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables.

Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch

Description: Come out to Hazelmere Pumpkin Patch for some family fun! In addition to the mini maze, there are also hayrides, a petting zoo and loads of pumpkins!

Laity Pumpkin Patch

Bring your family and enjoy the pumpkin patch, concession, farm animals, vegetable gardens, a small frontier town, Fairy Tale Trails and you can even pan for gold! Don’t forget the corn maze – a one-acre maze where children can meet the Cornstone family!

Peteys Pumpkin Patch

Description: With over 5,000 square feet of indoor activities, you can come out rain or shine! The wagon and train are also covered. In addition to the fun maze, you and your family can check out the bounce rides and the huge pumpkin patch!

Hopcott’s Meadows Maze

Description: Unfortunately, due to a severe windstorm at the end of August, this maze is closed for the 2015 season. But add it to your list for next year! Meadows Maze covers 15 acres and includes 12 hidden stations!

Other information and amenities: There’s a lot to do at Meadows Maze! There’s a bee observatory, goat feeding at Lions Goat bridge, a petting zoo, a 40-foot slide at Meadows Mountain, a hay ride and corn cannons, just to name a few! And if you’re hungry, there’s even homemade fudge or locally made ice cream.

Bose Corn Maze

Description: The Bose Corn Maze is celebrating its 14th year of helping visitors get lost. The Bose farm produces field crops and poultry, and has been putting food on tables since 1891. The maze is divided into two parts, and in each part you’ll find numbered posts with trivia questions. Your answer to the question will lead you to the next post, should you answer it correctly. You can even try your luck and navigate the maze at night! Don’t forget your flashlight.

Other information and amenities: The corn maze is open Aug. 22 to Oct. 12, and the farm also offers pumpkin patch rides (dependant on weather) from Sept. 19 to Oct. 25. There are vegetables and pumpkins for sale; admission is by cash only.
