Taste the best the Kootenay Lake region has to offer at the 3rd Annual Winter Kickoff Carnival and Events. It takes place in communities along Kootenay Lake (Nelson, Kaslo, Ainsworth Hot Springs and Balfour) from November 21st to December 7th, 2019.
New to the Kickoff this year is an immersive, free and family friendly magical Carnival happening on Friday, November 29th from 4pm – 9pm at The Station, in Nelson’s Railtown District.
Visitors and locals alike are invited to step inside an illuminated circus tent filled with craft breweries, restaurants, virtual reality googles, interactive games, cookie decorating, performances, fashion show by local businesses, and even Santa! A uniquely Kootenay Style world of wonder awaits, celebrating the best of winter. Come dressed in your carnival attire!
The days surrounding the Carnival are jam-packed with events throughout the Kootenay Lake region. With guided mural tours, backcountry storytelling, craft fairs, city light ups, film premieres, pantomimes, and so much more, there’s something for everyone during Winter Kickoff in the Nelson and Kootenay Lake Region.
