While working on the Fall 2013 article “The secret lives of bears,” Victoria-based science writer Jude Isabella immersed herself in current research on B.C.’s black and grizzly bears. When the Raincoast Conservation Foundation invited her into the field to observe bear biologists in action, she leapt at the opportunity.
