Okanagan day hikes gallery

Intrepid photographer David R. Gluns returned to the Okanagan Valley for the Fall 2013 issue of British Columbia Magazine. He teamed up with writer Jenny Manzerto document some of the region’s most noteworthy trails. Their work appears in “Okanagan day hikes for everyone.”

Of the five hiking destinations profiled, Gluns, a Vernon native, was most enchanted with that city’s Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, which features easy lake access for cooling down after a workout. “It brought back memories of high school days, though I never really did explore it back then so some of the trails were new.”

Here are a few of his favourite outtakes from the assignment for your enjoyment. . . . You may find yourself reaching for your hiking boots and water bottle, too.
