Fall Looks Different from Up Here
There’s something about fall on Vancouver Island that makes the outdoors impossible to resist. The air turns crisp, warm drinks return to your hands, and familiar places take on a different mood.
At Malahat SkyWalk, the change in season brings a little more atmosphere—and a lot more to discover.
Just 35 minutes from downtown Victoria, the coastal forest-to-sky experience is settling into fall with seasonal décor, photo-worthy stops, pumpkin spice lattes, outdoor adventure and panoramic views from 250 metres above sea level. This year, a new craft beer and cider festival joins the calendar, adding another reason to head up the Malahat this season.
A Different Kind of Fall Escape
The journey begins among the trees, following the elevated TreeWalk through the coastal forest before gradually climbing toward the Spiral Tower.
At the top, the landscape opens in every direction. Sweeping views stretch across Finlayson Arm and Saanich Inlet toward distant mountains and islands, while The Overhang—Malahat SkyWalk’s enclosed glass experience extending beyond the tower—offers an entirely different perspective.
Back on the ground, there’s more to explore. Take the quick way down on the Sizzler slide, wander through Luke’s Lane, settle into a hammock or simply slow the pace and enjoy being outside.
Throughout the property, pumpkins, hay bales, mums and cozy seasonal details bring an autumn mood to the coastal forest, creating plenty of places to stop for a photo along the way. Add a pumpkin spice latte or another warm drink, and there’s little reason to hurry. Around here, fall is a season worth lingering over.
Raise a Glass at SkyWalk Brewfest
There’s something new joining the fall calendar this year.
On Saturday, October 3, SkyWalk Brewfest brings together Vancouver Island craft beer and cider producers for an afternoon of local flavours, music and fall fun.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests 19+ can explore more than 30 beverages from 10 Island producers, while a DJ provides the soundtrack for the day. Music trivia, games and a design-your-own beverage label competition round out the afternoon.
The festival unfolds around Tower Plaza, which means there’s still an entire SkyWalk to explore between tastings.
For those who would rather leave the driving behind, special packages include return transportation from Victoria or the Cowichan Valley, Malahat SkyWalk admission, and a Brewfest wristband with four tasting tokens.
Make a Day of Fall
Whether it’s Brewfest, a walk among the trees, an afternoon with someone you love or simply an excuse to pull on a sweater and get outside, fall at Malahat SkyWalk isn’t about any one activity. It’s about making a day of it.
