Kelowna is the largest city in the Okanagan region of British Columbia. It is known for it’s wineries, beautiful lakes, outdoor recreation and laid back lifestyle. With a population just under 200,000 – Kelowna is the third largest metropolitan area in British Columbia as well as the largest BC city located away from the coast.
In Kelowna the summers are hot, and the winters are cold, providing the perfect balance of climates for both summer and winter activities. The warm weather of Summer makes Kelowna a popular travel destination for people located on the West Coast of Canada. Wake boarding, golfing and sipping wine at one of the many local wineries are just a few of the popular summer activities in Kelowna. In the colder months, locals and tourists spend their time enjoying Skiing and Snowboarding at the world famous Big White Ski Resort.
Clearly Kelowna is one of British Columbia‘s most amazing cities, but the activities available are easily overshadowed by the beauty of the area.
As the following photos will illustrate, Kelowna’s natural beauty is unmatched. You will have a hard time replicating the experience of sitting down with a nice glass of wine and watching the sun set over Okanagan Lake.
For the early birds amongst us, get your camera out and head out early. The experience of watching the Sun come up in the morning is well worth the loss of a few hours of sleep.
