Canada’s First Tulip Forest

Come out to Abbotsford for a dose of spring beauty

Submitted By Maan Farms

Maan Farms near Abbotsford welcomes spring with its annual Spring at the Farm event and another new experience – the Tulip Forest. Positioned as another first in Canada, the fall Forest Pumpkin Patch will be transformed with tulips.

“When we added the forest to our farm a few years ago, the safe choice would have been to clear space for traditional crops. However, we feel that farming is about taking risks and trusting your gut. We decided to take a chance on blending agriculture with the area’s untouched beauty. First, came the Forest Pumpkin Patch and, now, we are sharing the Tulip Forest. Everything we develop is to give our guests beautified areas to create meaningful moments,” says Amir Maan, farmer.

The Tulip Forest will be a stunning photo opportunity with two acres of vibrant blooms, amidst a forest backdrop. Additional installations include an enchanting mushroom house, ‘Hop Into Spring’ sign, oversized chair, swings, kissing booth and butterfly wings.

After Spring at the Farm is launched, Baby Animal Easter (BAE) Days will return on select dates. This springtime tradition brings a hands-on experience where guests can interact with bunnies, chicks, ducklings, lambs, calves, goats and pigs. During Easter weekend, guests are also invited to hop along with the Easter Bunny and join the rush of the Golden Egg Hunt.

Spring at the Farm and BAE Days both include Barnyard Adventureland. Attractions include a tractor pull, climbing wall, giant board games, large slides, zipline, pedal trikes, jumping pillows, play fort, bubble hut and tire mountains. The farm is also home to a variety of animals with the season welcoming newcomer furry friends, the miniature horses, miniature highland cows and spotted pigs along with the regular crew of donkeys, sheep, ducks, turkeys, peacocks, alpacas, goats, chickens and bunnies. For an extra dose of fun, paintball can be purchased on site.

No visit is complete without a visit to Mama Maan’s Country Kitchen. The turn of seasons brings two new seasonal treats with lemon mini donuts and carrot cake, a limited-edition wine called Flora, along with kid-friendly favorite entrees, gourmet pizzas, and signature dishes, such as butter chicken and chickpea curry bowls, classic Canadian poutine and samosas.

Spring at the Farm runs daily from April 5 until the end of tulip season, estimated to be in the middle of May. BAE Days are here on April 12, 13, 18, 19 and 20. Everyone is welcome, including dogs, on April 6, 9, 14, 17, 23, 26 and 28. Admission is priced separately for each event with the most value gained from purchasing an annual membership, which is further discounted until April 20. Membership also provides free admission to see the Tulip Forest during Spring at the Farm and BAE Days, unlimited visits to the farm, and access to the Forest Pumpkin Patch in fall.
