Powderful Purcells
Photographer David Gluns lives, breathes, hikes, skis, and shoots the Kootenays. This mountainous region surrounding Kootenay Lake in British Columbia’s southern Interior is his outdoor playground year-round. For our Winter 2009 issue, Gluns strapped on his touring skis to accompany writer Vivien Bowers and friends into the Purcell Mountains, a landscape of whipped-cream slopes and frosted peaks. The shoot was an embarrassment of riches. We published some dynamite shots in “The powderful Purcells” article in our Winter 2009 issue, and Gluns has hand-picked the following gallery of extras for our readers. Enjoy!
